Why protect your glass?

To the human eye, glass is a smooth surface, but on a microscopic level it's full of tiny ridges. Water, soap, dirt, and other contaminants can adhere to your glass by building up and getting stuck in these ridges. Over time, this can cause irreversible damage as it becomes near impossible for most cleaning product to remove the build-up. Wiping dirt away, even with chemical cleaners, might reach some of the product but anything stuck in those microscopic ridges is near impossible to reach.

That’s why glass ends up looking opaque/milky and becomes etched or damaged over time.

Glass protection is a filler that adheres to your glass to protect it from contaminant build-up and damage.

Premium glass protection products (like those used by our installers!) use nanotechnology, with tiny, microscopic particles that fill in the ridges in your glass. Once the treatment is applied, it smooths out the bumps creating a perfectly smooth surface which contaminants, and even water, can’t adhere to. Instead, it creates a beading effect – sitting on the surface until you wipe it away. This makes glass much easier to clean and since product can’t enter the glass ridges, your glass will be protected against damage for years to come.

It works a bit like this:

How do I protect my glass?

You can protect your glass with a one-off treatment that lasts years to come. A glass protection professional will coat your glass with an invisible protective layer, both protecting your glass against damage and making it easy to clean. Once your glass is protected, water and dirt are repelled and bead on top of the glass surface, making it extremely easy to wipe off with a squeegee and/or microfibre cloth.

The best time to protect your glass is when it’s brand new and unused - i.e., when your new shower or pool fence is just installed. This gives your glass a protective layer before any damage occurs and keeps it looking new for longer. Glass can be damaged within days or weeks, especially when there’s water involved and our glass protection treatment has a 10 year warranty when your glass is brand new!

If your glass isn’t new, you can still protect it. We will usually restore existing glass using an orbital sander to improve the appearance before applying your premium glass protection treatment. We offer a 5 year warranty on our used glass protection treatments.

Our installers will also leave clear aftercare instructions to ensure the glass protection remains effective.
